Alumni from all over the United States were reunited this afternoon and talked of new family additions and the latest life achievements. Not long after alumni were able to reunite with old friends, Director of the School of Hospitality and Service Management, Dr. Francis Demoy, introduced nine alumni to current students of the department.

Dr. Demoy introduced each alum, describing their education history and giving a brief overview of each person’s academic and professional accomplishments before handing over the podium to the alumnus.

As the alumni spoke, it became very clear that they held RIT in the highest regard. Each one had the same message: RIT continues to impact their professional lives, even decades after they have departed from the school. Alumni reminisced about class lessons that still impact their daily lives, how each day they remember something small they learned at RIT and never thought would matter. Others described how pleased they are that RIT’s stellar reputation allows them excel in their field of work and RIT’s name is so highly regarded within the professional community that it gives them a helpful boost. Other alums outlined how RIT and their professors pushed them above and beyond what they ever thought possible, helping students to find their calling and reminding them to stay motivated to achieve each and every day.

These messages aren’t limited to just the School of Hospitality and Service Management but to all students. RIT is your school, and your school will always continue to help you throughout your life, in both small and large ways that you have yet to imagine!
