Brick City BBQ
Hunger was building up in everybody that was standing in the line that started at the Clark Gymnasium to the Gordon Field House gym windows. That was only half of the line! More people waited on the other side of the Clark Gymnasium by the SAU. Thinking, “No way I am going to satisfy my hunger if I have to wait in such a line like this!” The line, about 50 yards, was growing from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Another bothersome thing waiting in that line: the smell of the catered barbequed food! The smell was reminiscent of hamburgers and hotdogs eaten at home by the pool. Stomach growls became intense. However, the line was quick once inside. The pulled pork, potatoes, macaroni, cornbread and other foods were delicious. Once outside of the catering section, families gathered for friendly conversation at large round tables, about 50 tables sat 10 people per table. The gym was filled with students and their parents, and RIT alumni. The main attraction to the event was the Dinosaur Barbeque Sauce, very popular in the Rochester area, and several different varieties were offered for all to enjoy. The regular sauce was fantastic on the pulled pork sandwich with a sweetness to it that definitely made it one of the top 10 lunches ever. With stomach no longer empty, everyone smiled.
