RIT has prided itself in being a leader in sustainability, so it comes as no surprise that the Department of Access Services is working to reduce its carbon footprint through carpooling. The RideShare exhibit presents a model for partnerships using online tools.

One popular attraction at the exhibit includes a Google Maps interface that will help participants of the RideShare program identify other carpooling participants. The newest development in progress is a mileage-tracking system that will allow DAS to monitor improvements as participants reduce carbon emissions.

RIT’s Department of Access Services has kept in mind the many environmental crises facing the world today in the development of these tools. Through innovation and teamwork, they hope to continue lowering their negative impact on the environment. The exhibit sets a great example for others to follow in their eco-friendly footsteps.
