Saturday Night Showcase: Fun for All

Even after the sun had set on Saturday, Brick City events were far from an end at the Student Alumni Union. The Saturday Night Showcase provided on-going arts and crafts events and visitors had the opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of activities throughout the evening.

Beyond hat making, caricatures, and other hands-on activities, lots of entertainment and goodies were offered to Brick City visitors. Saturday’s showcase events included a Karaoke Jam Session down in the RITZ café, where families could have a fun time singing along to their favorite tunes. Upstairs, jazz performances accompanied by coffee and desserts gave visitors a cool atmosphere to wind down their night. For those looking to end their evening on a lighter note, Local Rochester comedian, Jamie Lissow, kept the audience laughing for an entire hour.

Many students, families, and alumni attended individual events while others gained access to most with an all-access pass. Karen Gates Andrews and Maria Rainone Lewis, graduates from 1971, attended Jamie Lissow’s comedy show. The two old classmates and longtime friends thoroughly enjoyed his performance, laughing through most of the routine and getting themselves involved in his jokes by answering questions, many of which lead to more jokes. It was obvious they, like most of the families, students, and alumni that attended, had a great time at the Saturday Night Showcase.
