Sensophoria: Symphonic Sensory Remixing

A symphony of the senses is being composed in building 7A right now. The composers are chosen in groups of four from the anxious festival goers waiting in the hallway outside.

Team seVen created the Sensophoria experience as part of their new media student team project. Their goal is to present participants with an interactive experience that calls on four of the five senses in an engaging and artful way. As you enter the 12' x 12' cube with three others, you are handed a one-button infrared remote. With wand in hand, the last wall of the cube is lowered down and the composition begins.

The four composers turn to address their orchestra, in this case, the wall, and they begin. The wand moves across the screen painting a beautiful mosaic of purples, reds, and vibrant greens. Accompanying the stunning visuals are the cascading sounds of harmonious chords and modern dance beats. As the user releases the button on their remote, the screen is cleared and they are free to compose.

As the composers conducted, shouts of, "This is so cool!" and, "I could literally do this all day!" could be heard emanating from the cube. The entire experience takes place in room 1440 of building 7A, and will run for several hours. The room is appropriately lit and rigged so that you know you are about to experience something truly innovative.
