A hacker has mysteriously infiltrated your computer and inflicted it with sickness. Now it’s running slow, advertisements are popping up all over the screen, and you can’t get any work done. Many of us have experienced the aggravation and stress of this scenario. The common virus and worm infections of our beloved computers seem to be a sickness with no cure.

In the spirit of innovation, the New Media students have redesigned and developed hardware, software, and furniture for the new, New Media Lab for Interactive Games and Media.

Librarian/Liaison for the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, Linette Koren, led a workshop Friday morning at Wallace Library for Google Docs where both parents of current students and alumni of RIT gathered in the BIB Lab for an interactive tutorial of the program.
On the second floor of the Wallace Library, 1998 graduate of RIT and current Wallace library web designer, Patrick Reed, teaches an audience of parents and few students how to increase their productivity on the Internet.

A little red fire truck slowly pulls away from its home on a small black square. It appears to be any other children’s toy as it paces back and forth across a large mat with a single circular block on the center. Finally, the truck comes to a stop with its basket hanging over the cylinder.

Everyone likes robots. They can entertain us, feed us hotdogs, impress us, and make everyday tasks more manageable. However, the “Mine Detection with Swarm Robotics” exhibit in the Xerox WOW! Center shows an example of robotics that can save lives.
