Parents and students had the opportunity to hear from a panel of RIT staff members in the Carlson Auditorium about the adjustments and transitions families face six weeks into the quarter and what to expect when students come home for their first holiday break.

Parents Learn How to Deal with "Terrible Twos"

The Academic Support Center (ACS) held an informational session on the second floor of the George Eastman Building to assist students transitioning from their first year to their second year. The program aimed toward a better understand and possibly help their student avoid the “sophomore slump,” or rescue them from it if need be.

Changes with the NTIDAA

The National Technical Institute of the Deaf Alumni Association (NTIDAA) met Saturday morning to discuss and vote on the newly proposed bylaws. The bylaws were revised to allow for the NTIDAA and the RIT Alumni Association to work in closer relation and to provide opportunity for both organizations. The new bylaws were accepted with seven in favor and none opposed.

A Night of Remembering

The RIT Presidents Alumni Ball, held Friday night at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, entertained over 600 alumni for an evening of dinner, dancing, honoring special award winners and celebrating their RIT spirit; the event also celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Henrietta campus and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf.

Film Students Honor Show

The Film Student Honors Show presented several categories of movies Friday night in the Chester Carlson Building Auditorium, including colorful animations, twenty-minute live action movies, romances, fictions, narratives and comedies; some were animations about milky characters, others about veterans of war and documentaries of their life.

RIT Looks Back

Everyone knows that RIT is a male-dominated school, boasting a male-to-female ratio of about 65 to 35. But on this Brick City weekend, the Department of Archives, the College of Liberal Arts, and the Women’s Center paid tribute to the women of RIT.
