Technology can often benefit or complicate our daily lives. Online shopping is a form of technology that is often questioned in regard to being practical.

Most college students have a Facebook account. Even President Destler of RIT has a Facebook account! However, most individuals of previous generations seem oblivious to this new form of communication.

Collaboration With Google Docs

Librarian/Liaison for the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, Linette Koren, led a workshop Friday morning at Wallace Library for Google Docs where both parents of current students and alumni of RIT gathered in the BIB Lab for an interactive tutorial of the program.

RIT After Class

Outside of the SAU, bright orange tables, enthusiastic club representatives, and students juggling created an exciting atmosphere for students, parents, and alumni alike. On Friday at the Brick City Homecoming, RIT After Class gave clubs and organizations on campus an opportunity to inform students and parents about their purpose. Many clubs were hoping to recruit new members during the day.

Alumni Awards Dinner, a Thanksgiving Dinner for School Alumni

At this year’s annual Alumni Awards Night, it was quite a sight to see so many RIT alumni reuniting at the Rochester Country Club, one of the oldest county clubs in the nation. Each year the School of Hospitality and Service Management holds the event, congratulating alumni in their professional accomplishments within RIT’s longest-standing alumni group of 24 years.

Alumni Share How RIT Continues to Help

Alumni from all over the United States were reunited this afternoon and talked of new family additions and the latest life achievements. Not long after alumni were able to reunite with old friends, Director of the School of Hospitality and Service Management, Dr. Francis Demoy, introduced nine alumni to current students of the department.
