Found on the second floor of the Wallace Memorial Library “Imagination Unleashed” is a must-see display of special and inspiring artists' books from the Cary Graphic Arts Collection. A sample of what can be found there includes:

Innovation News: True Collaboration

At the Innovation Festival at RIT, the School of Print Media’s Open Publishing Lab has have decided to raise the bar for publishing on-demand. The project, led by Professors Riordan and Bernius, is to have newspapers published approximately every hour, starting from the time of content upload to distribution.

In the digital age, there is an increasing demand for assets to take the form of electronic documents that change the way in which print media is viewed and experienced. In particular, the demand for the digitization of printed books is on the rise. “Moving knowledge from books to bytes” is the motto of Kirtas Technologies, Inc., pioneers in the transition from analog to digital media.

"Me" Issue of Reporter Magazine

The issue of Reporter Magazine being distributed around campus this week is special because no two copies are exactly alike. On April 9, 11, and 14, stations were set up around campus where anyone with an RIT ID card could have their picture taken. During the photo shoots, several hundred portraits were taken of students, faculty, and staff.

Collaboration At Its Finest

Located in the inner depths of the basement of the library lies a treasure many may have never heard of until now. The CollaboRITorium, originally created by the Fall 2008 class on Innovation and Invention at RIT, boasts an open environment of self-creation that challenges a person’s ideas and innovation through cross disciplinary collaborative efforts.

Experiencing Rebirth--The Island of Lokrum

RIT's photography students at ACMT in Dubrovnik, Croatia got the opportunity to experience the way things were in Dubrovnik 400 years ago. Dressed in renaissance aristocracy costumes, students went to the Island of Lokrum to create a photo session for RIT's Innovation and Creativity Festival.

Eye Tracking in the Real World

RIT is known not only for it’s scientific research, but innovation as well. One of the many fine examples of RIT's innovation being displayed in the Xerox WOW! Center is an exhibit entitled “Eye Tracking in the Real World”. The exhibit features a portable eye-tracking device and a remote eye-tracking device.
